I was unable to attend corporate prayer today (held every Mon., Wed., & Fri's at MMCC, 3523 Cadillac Blvd. in Detroit)  Although I was unable to attend, that did not PREVENT me from being prayerful and praying for the MMCC Prayer Warriors that attended.  Men ought always to pray and not to faint, according to Luke 18.  That means praying any and everywhere, any and everytime you can possibly send up a prayer or two, or three, etc.

If I can be a little "candid" for just a moment (plenty of smiles & giggles inserted here), some of the best prayers/fellowships that I've experienced has been....yep, you guessed it:  in the BATHROOM (LOL for real now)  That was said only to present an example of doing Luke 18:1-praying ALWAYS and not to faint.  It is very difficult, and in some cases impossible to stay on our knees, in our prayer closets ALL day and everyday.  Therefore, whenever, wherever, whatever you're doing, you can pray to God, our Father through Christ Jesus.
You can be sweeping, cooking, working and meditating on the Lord at the same time, and it can still produce great results.  However, DISCLAIMER:  Block out a time where it's just you and God.  No disruptions.

James 5:16 "...the effectual, fervent prayer of a RIGHTEOUS MAN availeth much."
(Note:  the "eth" in availeth denotes continuous action)

So, be careful who you ask to pray for you.  You want the prayers of the RIGHTEOUS to go forth on your behalf if you want great results (Uh-oh!  Sounds like another blog subject!)

Be encouraged, be prayerful!

Author & Finisher of our Faith, Hebrews 12:2

Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our Faith...what exactly does that means?

Although He wasn't manifested in the flesh at the time of creation, He still existed.  Remember reading where God said "Let US make man in OUR image..."? (Genesis 1:26)  Who is US?  That could only mean that Jesus.  Jesus is the Son of God and God in the flesh.  At the time of creation, Jesus was well and alive, although not manifested in the physical.  Think about it; we were all in existence even before our manifestation when God, in His awesome and infinite wisdom, created sperm and egg, planting them respectively in our fathers and mothers.

That being said, Jesus Christ was here at the beginning of time, and THROUGH HIM, He is the beginning and ending of our salvation. We need Him in order to obtain salvation, especially since it is through Him we obtain it.  Salvation began with Jesus.  Since our awesome God saw that we needed a Savior, and it ends with Him, who will return for a church without spot and wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27)

Jesus is our source, our all, our Friend.  O taste and see that He, the author/Alpha and finisher/Omega is GOOD!

Do you know that you can NEVER run out of things to pray about?  Prayer is an essential part of our Walk.  Praying is communicating with God, as well as it is a key element in your relationship with God.  Any type of relationship (marriage, family, career) that lacks communication will eventually falter.  Imagine not talking to the Lord for an extended amount of time, even not sending up an occasional "God, I simply thank You for being You," "God, I thank You for life on today, for breath in my body..."  That would be so awful!

A constant, consistent prayer life is NECESSARY.  Not only is it great to have your own personal prayer time, but organized prayer time with fellow prayer warriors/partners in a group or church setting is AWESOME.

Mt. Moriah Christian Church Prayer Warriors go forth in prayer on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at noon, and on Friday evenings at 6:00 p.m.  Please come out and join us in a powerful hour of prayer!

The Devil's Prime Target

If you are walking in the Light and in the divine Will God has ordained for your life, be on the lookout for your prime nemesis - the DEVIL, SATAN, LUCIFER, the ADVERSARY (YEP, HIM).  Do you understand that when you shun sin, the devil will do any and everything within his power to DESTROY you?  Saints of the most high God, we are the devil's prime target!  The life of a saint is easy, because it is the way of a transgressor that is HARD (Proverbs 13:15); nevertheless, we as saints of God will endure trials, hardships, tribulations - this is written in many Scriptures, especially in one of my favorite Books - I Peter Chps 3 & 4.  Here's the good news - trouble will not last always, and when we go through with great faith, knowing that the God we serve will NOT leave us hanging, we will have a shout-the-house-down testimony that will glorify the most high God!

As long as you are in the Will of God, living all you know how to according to His Word, the devil will mess with you in many ways - through your family, job, children, everyday living, etc.  As my Bishop says, "If the enemy aint messing with you, SOMETHING'S WRONG."  Take a look in the mirror and do a self-check.  Are you living out of the Will of God?  Is everything in your life just a little bit "too peachy"??

NOW, let me throw this disclaimer out there:  the life of a saint is not an everyday, every minute boxing match with the devil-NO.  We will have good, peaceful days.  However, we must realize the benefit of suffering for Christ's sake. You can read about that, once again, in I Peter 3 & 4.

When the devil attack, remind him that your God is way bigger than your storm, and that you will OVERCOME, that you have the victory in JESUS' NAME.  The trial only comes to strengthen you, give you greater endurance, and of course, to glorify the awesome God that will bring you out!

The one thing about GOING THROUGH is that you are COMING OUT OF IT!
