WHOA! I Didn't See THAT Coming!

Good morning/afternoon/evening family and friends!  Here is your inspiration for today!

In the famous words of Ms. Sophia Petrillo from the 1980's hit sitcom, The Golden Girls, "PICTURE IT, SICILY, 1912...."

In our case, "PICTURE IT! Whatever city you reside in, 2014."  Life is going good.  The sun seems to shine everyday, even on the cloudiest of days.  You have absolutely no complaints.  You are in a wonderful state of contentment.  Seems like this is definitely YOUR season. Grace and favor constantly knock at your door.  God is answering your petitions left and right.  Life, health and strength are "A-OK."  Your relationship-NEVER BETTER!  Each day seems to be sweeter than the day before.

Then, all of a sudden-BAM!  Life takes a drastic turn for what may "seems" to be the worst!

You go to the doctor (your usual check up) only to receive bad news and plenty of prescriptions for costly medications-most of which are not covered or partially covered by your health insurance.  The health of your loved one/close friend dramatically fails, resulting in their premature demise. You walk into your place of employment only to find out that you are no longer an employee, or, you have "x" amount of days left there.  You arrive home only to see your house burglarized, vandalized or consumed due to arson...and the homeowners insurance just lapsed.  Your address becomes a treading ground for shut-off notices.  Your child dies or is a victim of a heinous act.  Your loved one is falsely accused of a crime.  Your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend calls it quits without provocation.  The chain of unfortunate events seems to be unending and mind-boggling.

These are just a few examples of the things many, if not all of us, have experienced, are experiencing or WILL experience.  Guess what?!  It's called LIVING LIFE.  Simple.  Most of these things catch us off guard to the point we're like, "WHOA!  I didn't see THAT one coming!"  However, that's the awesome thing about being rooted and grounded in Christ Jesus. Our FAITH in JESUS should be so heavily fortified that when life strikes us with a devastating blow, we won't crumble or be destroyed because our sure foundation is in Him.  When God said He will never leave us or forsake us, He meant that! (Hebrews 13:5)

Also, sometimes God will allow things to happen for the sake of an opportunity for Him to SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT on your behalf.  You thought you "trusted God," but He really, really, really wants to show you that you can "SHO NUFF" trust Him.

He never said that everyday will be like "living on Easy Street and Got-It-Made Boulevard."  We shall experience hardships, downfalls, disappointments, etc.  The key is knowing how to trust and believe God in the midst of your troublesome circumstances. Trust and praise God when you snatch that eviction notice off your front door.  Trust and praise God when that spouse/child begins to act out.  Trust and praise God when you feel like you are at the point of losing your natural mind.

Read the following Scripture. I believe this will encourage and minister to you:
"Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;" ~1 Peter 4:1~ (emphasis added)

There is a difference between suffering and Christian suffering.  Oftentimes (not ALL of the time though), suffering is self-inflicted.  It becomes a result of things done, thus making it a consequence. It could have been prevented.  However, Christian suffering is living all you know how to live according to His Word and PURE HELL breaks out. Be not weary and count it ALL JOY!!!  The enemy is watching you live godly, and he is going to attempt to do any and everything to knock you off your square!  Your suffering denotes that you are truly dead to sin!  Rejoice!!  "for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;"

Further down in the same chapter, verses 12 and 13 say:

"Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy."
~1 Peter 4:12-13~

Thank God for the tests and trials!  Don't think it strange when random foolishness happens! Understand this: the enemy is only doing his job.  Our job(s) is to GET ON OUR JOBS, STAY ON OUR JOBS, PRAY AND PRAISE OUR WAY THROUGH IT AND OUT OF IT!!  Will you pass the test?  You sure can, with God on your side.  He is there to guide you along the way, just stay the course. (Psalm 119:105)

During the course of life, unexpected obstacles will arise.  We will have our "WHOA!" moments, of course. It is inevitable.  Instead of having a toddler-like temper tantrum (which will NOT solve the problem, but create more problems, i.e. hypertension), say a prayer and ask God to help you.  When you entreat the Father, trust Him along with the way.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. ~Psalm 37:3~

Although you didn't see it coming, the omniscient One, who sees our beginning and stands at the end, saw it long before you did.  Go through the PROCESS to PROGRESS.

I pray you were encouraged and inspired,

Prayer from #TheWriter

Good afternoon,

On Monday morning (5/12/14), the LORD dropped a Word in my spirit so heavy, I just laughed and praised God. Have you ever experienced that?  Have God ever dropped a Word in your spirit that was SO TIMELY? It's so amazing, and it just makes my heart swell with joy.  It reiterates His unending, unfailing love for me. I pray that many be blessed and inspired by this forthcoming rendering.  No glory belongs to me, for my #DesireToINSPIRE is for God's glory alone.

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."  Proverbs 3:5-6  (emphasis added)

Therefore, this is #TheWriter's Prayer:

Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus, first of all:  THANK YOU.  Lord, I thank You for life, health, strength, love, salvation and so much more.  I can't praise Your holy name enough.  I thank You for the gifts You instilled in me.  In gratitude, I render my gifts for Your glory.  Thank You for the desire to inspire Your people through the gift of writing.  If I can bless at least one soul for Your glory, I'll be satisfied.  Heavenly Father, I pray that You guide my hands as I compose each and every blog post You inspire me to render.  Father, allow this Word to minister unto the reader's spirit.  Let this be a seed planted in the fertile grounds of the readers' hearts.  Let it be an inspiring and encouraging Word.  Lead and guide me.  Allow this Word to speak to their spirit, to confirm For Your Glory and in Your Son's name I pray, Amen.

Be encouraged, be inspired...
